Salmaan Hameed is Chief Technical Officer for Avantis Medical Systems, a medical device company based in San Jose, California. He also serves as a member of the company’s Board of Directors.

 

Salmaan has over 20 years of experience as a serial entrepreneur, business developer and innovator. He has held several management positions in the medical device industry including with Stryker, Pivot Medical (Stryker) and Chest Innovations.

 

He conceptualized and developed new product lines for complete operating room documentation, revolutionizing the industry. At Stryker, he designed and developed the voice-activated platform for the surgical suite that became a gold standard for the industry, and the product was endorsed by Medical Device and Diagnostic Industry (MDDI) in 2009.

 

His imaginative concepts that were the foundation for one of the world’s first HD cameras led him to develop an innovative camera for EvoCam, which won an award in the MIT business and technology competition.

 

While he served as CEO for Chest Innovations, the company was described by the Silicon Valley Business Journal as a "most upcoming medical technology for 2011."

Salmaan has over twenty-one patents, and he holds a BS in Electrical Engineering, MS in Computer Engineering and MBA in Corporate Strategy.
